-Metallographer
Superior Tube Company, established in 1934, manufactures small diameter metal tubing. Our products support applications such as our country’s defense industries, life-saving medical markets, aerospace, and nuclear power generation. We are currently seeking a Metallographer to join our quality team. You will perform metallographic work on both production and development program. Analyze customer issues and predict possible reasons based on extensive metallographic work. Conduct defect evaluations, photomicrographs, and reports. Provide detailed metallographic work on raw stock, in-process material and finished products. Your focus will primarily be on our nuclear and medical markets. You will possess an Associates Degree in Metallography or Material Science. You will have achieved adequate credits is ASM courses in Metallurgy or Metallography. Extensive and relevant work experience in a metal working industry required. Experience working with stainless steel, nickel or cobalt base alloys and/or titanium alloys. Sound knowledge of metalworking and understanding of creation of defects essential. Basic computer skills required. Working knowledge of analytical instruments. Ability to write and follow work instructions and procedures. Able to work with minimum supervision. Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to support our production facility. This includes arriving early than regularly scheduled, working late and working on scheduled days off as needed. We offer great
